WHAT WILL MY CHILD LEARN DURING SAFETY TOWN?
Topics include: bike safety, stranger danger, poisons around the house, proper hand washing, pet safety, water safety and many other life saving topics. Additionally, your child will be treated to a safe and supervised field trip to the Fire Department and the James Madison Community Pool!
Safety Town is a 15-hour safety education program for children who will be starting Kindergarten in Fall. ***UPDATE: Now accepting children who are entering 1st Grade in the Fall.*** It teaches safety awareness and accident prevention in a fun, hands-on setting. Taught by a certified teacher with the assistance of a member of the Sheboygan Police Department, kids practice safety skills both indoors and out on our miniature Safety Town lot.

Students learn about pedestrian safety, poisons, strangers, guns, bus safety, and more. In addition, we bring in experts to talk about dental care, pet safety, fire safety, and water safety. The Sheboygan Fire Department, Sheboygan County Health Department, Sheboygan Police Department, and Community Recreation Department all help instruct the children during this 5-day program.
